IATA hat an die BSP (Wikipedia) Teilnehmer eine Rundmail ausgeschickt. Bis 28.09. ist eine Teilnahme an BSP von IATA gesichert. Tickets können also bis 28.09. klassisch ausgestellt werden, könnte man sagen. Ab 21.09. werden die Karten neu gemischt. Da ist Gläubigertreffen.

Dear BSP Participants,
Following the insolvency filing of Air Berlin (AB-745), IATA has been in constant contact with the airline in order to obtain a financial security to ensure its participation in the IATA Settlement Systems. As has been reported in the media, the airline is in advanced talks regarding its future and resolution is anticipated following a 21 September creditors’ meeting. Additionally, Air Berlin has met all its obligations to the IATA settlement systems since the date of the insolvency filing, and has committed to do so going forward.
After a thorough review of the airline’s financial situation, and given the exceptional circumstances of its insolvency process, IATA has agreed to the placement by Air Berlin of a partial security deposit for the period between the insolvency filing and 28 September. This will allow the airline’s continued participation through that date. Once Air Berlin will agree on additional financial security for the future periods, taking into consideration the new direction of the airline.
As previously notified directly by Air Berlin, refunds for the periods prior the insolvency period are prevented by German insolvency law, and are therefore not being approved by Air Berlin. IATA takes no position as to the validity of this legal argument, but notes that it is required for any airline to approve submitted refunds before they can be settled through the BSP. It is therefore solely the airline’s decision as to whether honor the pre-insolvency refunds, and any questions or concerns regarding Air Berlin’s position on this issue should be directed to the airline or its legal counsel.”
