“IHG® Rewards Club members may use points for eligible charges at participating IHG® hotels and resorts or at participating restaurants and spas at IHG® hotels and resorts.
A redemption request for IHG® Rewards Club Pay with Points may only be made by a Member of IHG® Rewards Club with sufficient point balance. Redemptions may only be made online after logging on with IHG® Rewards Club member number or email and PIN. When a Member requests a redemption for a specific currency amount or for “up to” a specific currency amount, the equivalent amount of points will be deducted from the Member’s account.
An award redemption is limited to eligible redemption charges at participating outlets when settled in such outlet or, for registered hotel guests, when settled to their guest room. These charges vary by hotel and resort, but generally include food and beverage, spa and salon services, and spa and salon retail items. In addition, the following charges may be eligible at participating hotels and resorts when settled to the Member’s guest room: room upgrades, laundry, dry cleaning, telephone charges, pay-per-view movies, parking, gift/retail shop, service charges, taxes (not including room taxes) and gratuities. These redemption charges expressly exclude alcoholic beverages (in certain jurisdictions), catering or banquet charges, and casino charges. Pay with Points is valid only for individual travel, and is not applicable to group travel, package tours, or conventions that have been charged to and/or paid by a third party. A Pay with Points redemption may be used by the Member only and may not be gifted.
A maximum of one award may be redeemed per transaction. The program may limit the number of transactions and/or the maximum amount of points redeemed per day.
Redemptions must be used within 24 hours of redemption or the reward will expire, and the points returned to the account. A redemption may also be cancelled by the Member prior to use and the points returned to the account.
Redemptions cannot be redeemed for cash.
The Member must inform an IHG® colleague at the applicable outlet of his or her intention to redeem an award at the outset of the meal, spa service, or other applicable transaction. The member must provide the confirmation number of the award to the colleague for processing at time of transaction.
A redemption may be applied to part of a larger charge; however, the Member is financially responsible for any portion of charges exceeding the award value. If an award transaction is canceled, returned, or already used, the Member will be required to settle the charges with another form of payment. It must be used in full. In the event that the redemption amount exceeds the eligible redemption charge to which it is applied by the Member, no credit will be issued for any portion of the award that is not fully used, nor will cash be given back, and the remainder of the balance will be forfeited.
IHG ® Rewards Club Pay with Points redemptions, once used, are not refundable, exchangeable, replaceable or transferable for cash or credit.”

Der Wert der Einlösung ist schlecht und sollte man eigentlich nicht machen. Jetzt können wir nur hoffen, dass IHG das nicht als das neue Punkteschema vor hat.
