„How can I earn Base Points for eligible food and beverage or spa charges when not staying at the hotel?
World of Hyatt members that visit participating restaurants or spas need to provide their account number to the Hyatt Colleague at the outlet at time of payment to process the earned Base Points (5 points per $1USD) on eligible charges.
To earn points when incurring eligible charges at a participating outlet, the member must use certain eligible payment methods (which include cash, check, or major credit cards or debit/bank cards). Please see below and the World of Hyatt terms for additional detail.
What is eligible for earning at restaurants and spas?
Eligible changes vary on a hotel-by-hotel basis, but generally include spa and salon services, spa and salon retail items, and food and beverage expenditures (except at outlets not operated by the hotel). Points will not be awarded on tips, service charges, taxes, gratuities and, in certain jurisdictions, alcoholic beverage purchases. Other exclusions may apply.
Do points earned by making eligible purchases in participating outlets count as Bonus Points or Base Points?
Points earned on eligible charges at participating outlets (5 Base Points per $1USD dollar) will count as Base Points. Only Base Points help a member progress towards tier status.
Will any points earned in outlets count towards lifetime tier?
Base Points earned on eligible restaurant and spa outlets (5 Base Points per $1USD) will count as Base Points and therefore count toward earning tier status, including Lifetime Globalist status. Any Bonus Points earned will not.
Do I receive my Discoverist, Explorist or Globalist tier Bonus Points on the base spend?
Yes, tier point bonuses will be earned on eligible charges on visits to the restaurants and spas.“
