Der Zug zum Satellitenterminal läuft wieder …
Seit drei Jahren hat man am Flughafen Kuala Lumpur eine gröbere Peinlichkeit laufen. Seit einer geschlagenen Ewigkeit wird die Zugstrecke zwischen dem Hauptgebäude und dem Satellitengebäude renoviert. Seither fährt man zwischen diesen zwei Gebäuden mit einem Bus.
Für die Business und First hat man einen eigenen Wartebereich – wie eine kleine Airport Lounge – eingerichtet und spezielle Busse angeschafft. Gäste der Malaysia Airlines Business wurden sogar mit der Limousine transportiert. Trotzdem kann man sich natürlich mehr Spaß als eine Busfahrt zwischen zwei Gebäudeteilen an einem Airport vorstellen.
Mit 01.07. hat das endlich ein Ende. Ab Juli soll der Aerotrain wieder wie gewohnt zwischen Terminal und dem Satellitengebäude verkehren.
| „KL International Airport (KLIA) will begin operations of its new Aerotrains on 1 July 2025, marking the completion of a major infrastructure upgrade that began in 2022. The planned three-year project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance service standards and the overall passenger experience. The Aerotrain has now entered its final stage of testing, following the successful completion of the critical fault-free run (FFR) and final careful inspection, two major milestones, that confirms the system’s technical reliability and readiness. Conducted under the strict oversight of Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD), the FFR involved a rigorous validation process in which the first train was required to complete 2,000 kilometers of continuous fault-free operations, while the remaining two trains logged 1,000 kilometers each. This ensures that all three trains are fully commissioned and that the system’s built-in redundancy is in place for live operations.“ |
