IHG hat enorm viele Hotels. Das Punkteprogramm IHG Rewards ist sehr beliebt und bietet gute Promos. Im high-end Bereich hat IHG aber eine gewaltige Schwäche. In UK gibt es genau zwei Intercontinental Hotels:

Die Marke Intercontinental positioniert sich im high-end Bereich, aber der Ausbau ist langsam und es gibt leider nur echt wenig Hotels. Kimpton hätte den upscale Bereich auch weiter ausbauen sollen, in Europa findet sich aber nur das Kimpton Amsterdam. Und dann kommt lange nichts bis wir bei Crowne Plaza und Indigo Hotels ankommen.
In UK wird das Kimpton und Intercontinental Portfolio ausgebaut. 13 Prinicpal und De Vere Hotels werden in Intercontinental und Kimpton Häuser:

Für das Rebranding gibt man sich zwei Jahre Zeit. Hey, coole Entwicklung. Marriott hat sich mit dem SPG Kauf IMO aber besser aufgestellt. Bei IHG ist dieser Ausbau im oberen Bereich eher nur ein Tropfen auf den heißen Stein.
