IHG ist super bei den low-budget Hotels. Man kann auch die Mittelklasse gut bedienen. In den höheren Gefilden wird es dann schon ein wenig dünn. Bei Intercontinental ist dann schon aus.
Damit man sich da jetzt besser aufstellt, investiert IHG in upscale Marken. Mit Regent Hotels hat man vor einem Jahr so ein Hotelkette integriert. Das Intercontinental Hong Kong wird mal ein neues Regent Hotel, muss aber vorher noch renoviert werden. Das Four Seasons Shanghai Pudong wechselt die Seiten und wird nun auch ein Regent Haus. Ein Four Seasons zu einem IHG Hotel, das ist schon eine starke Wandlung. Vielleicht kann IHG ja irgendwann auch oben richtig mitspielen.

From 16 May 2020, the hotel will be officially branded as Regent Shanghai Pudong and ready to welcome guests with a truly unique and luxury experience, which the legendary brand is famous for. All existing reservations will be automatically forwarded and honoured by Regent Shanghai Pudong. Guests will be able to experience the understated luxury and intuitive service brought by Regent seamlessly. Under the deal, IHG will also take over the management of its luxury apartments, which sit above the hotel in the same tower.”
