Air India könnte bald einen neuen Besitzer haben …
Air India ging es bereits vor Covid-19 nicht so richtig gut. Irgendwie hat sich bis jetzt kein Käufer gefunden. Da kommt nun Bewegung ins Spiel. Der große indische Mischkonzern Tata, der mit Singapore Airlines die Joint Venture Airline Vistara unterhält, zeigt Interesse an Air India:
“Tata Sons is in talks with Singapore Airlines (SIA), its joint-venture partner in Vistara, to waive a non-compete clause and partner with it in a proposed bid for the beleaguered national carrier Air India. The bid will be through Vistara, which is a full-fledged carrier.”

Vertraglich gibt es ein kleines Problem. Vistara ist der Full-Service Airline Partner von Tata. Somit soll Vistara eigentlich Air India schlucken:
“Our group chairman has clearly stated that the airline businesses have to be consolidated and there cannot be multiple airlines. So Air India being a full-service carrier, it is only sensible that it will come under the Vistara business which is a full-service carrier too. So we are hopeful that our partner will be willing to participate in the future plans that includes Air India,”
Sollte Singapore Airlines das Risiko nicht eingehen wollen, dann scheint sogar ein Alleingang von Tata möglich.

Vistara ist die aktuell beste indische Airline (Kingfisher ist ja leider nicht mehr existent).
Wenn die sich Air India ans Bein binden wird es rasant nach unten gehen.
