Virgin Australia Velocity hat einen Status Match für die Oneworld Airlines gestartet. Man erhält mal Gold für drei Monate. Um den Status zu erhalten, müsste man einen Virgin Australia Sector innerhalb der drei Monate (und 80 Statuspunkte) schaffen. Das ist derzeit leider schwer machbar.

Velocity (we) are offering eligible Velocity Frequent Flyer members (you) the ability to trial Gold Status for 3 months (Discover Gold), when you demonstrate your Eligible Frequent Flyer Membership with an Eligible Airline between 12:01AM AEST 7 December 2020 and 11:59PM AEST 4 January 2021.

To be considered for Discover Gold, you must complete the expression of interest form, and provide the information we require, to evidence your Eligible Frequent Flyer Membership. We require a colour copy of the loyalty side of your Eligible Frequent Flyer Membership card to review your application for Discover Gold. You’ll need to log in to your Velocity account to complete the expression of interest form.
If we approve your application, we’ll notify you and your 3 month Discover Gold trial will start on your nominated Discover Gold start date. Your nominated Discover Gold start date needs to be provided to us at least 7 days before that requested start date and it must be no later than 11 January 2021. Once your start date is nominated, it can’t be changed. We offer this benefit in our discretion and we don’t guarantee that you’ll be offered it.
During your Discover Gold Status trial:
you’ll receive some member benefits connected with Gold Status;
benefits you won’t receive include: Gold member baggage tag, a physical membership card, complimentary partner memberships, guaranteed economy Reward Seat, membership pause for parental leave;
you’ll continue to earn Status Credits, Points and Eligible Sectors in the same way as other members; and
your Status Credits balance will reflect the number of Status Credits, Points and Eligible Sectors you’ve earned since receiving this Discover Gold trial.
If you earn 80 Status Credits and fly at least one Eligible Sector during your 3 month Discover Gold trial, you’ll be eligible for these 2 benefits:
you can maintain full Gold Status for 12 months.
We’ll assess your eligibility at the end of your 3 month Discover Gold trial, and if you’re eligible, we’ll notify you and you’ll receive 12 months of full Gold status.
If you aren’t eligible for this benefit, your Status level will be assessed in accordance with the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions.
you can nominate a family member or friend, who is a Velocity member, to receive Companion Gold Status membership for 12 months.”
